Holiday Road

This video is one of my favorite home movies. It was made in 1985, just after Jordan’s Christening. For some reason, while all hanging out on the front porch, the family befriended a kid who was riding his bike on the street. They then proceeded to invite him into the car (though that’s not as sketchy as it sounds!), and MOST of the family crammed themselves into a convertible and drove around the block.

The best part was that the kid was also named Kevin, so we had some fun with the names. Best quote: “Kev, how long have you known Kev?”

Snapshot Slideshow: Paris and Lyon

In a completely unrelated trip to the story from earlier, here’s our trip (mom’s and mine) to Lyon and Paris to visit Lindsay when she lived in France for a semester. It is the first of the many “Snapshot Slideshows” I plan to put together of the various family events.

Camp Hymelick

Strangely enough, I don’t think Camp Hymelick has ever come up on the family website, despite the fact that hymelick.com gets it’s name from it! Camp Hymelick is the epic story of one man’s quest for the greatest summer camp. Roger Hymelick (portrayed by Jordan) and his family (portrayed by Kelly, Lindsay, Kara, Emily and other various family members in multiple roles) work together to run Camp Hymelick, a less-than-adequate summer camp. I am in the process of getting all our material onto the computer and transferred to DVD, but it is a looooong process! In the meantime, I remembered that two of our scenes are already up and running.

In this first one, talk show host Capitain von Trapp (played by Kara) and his brother Jumbo (played by Emily) dance with one of their guests, the Minch (played by Lindsay):
